Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes in Baltimore city and county.

Northeastern District

Robbery try: A gunman tried to rob the Crown service station in the 6200 block of Belair Road yesterday but fled without any money when the attendant ducked under the counter.

Robbery: Two men, one with a handgun, robbed Murry's steaks in the 2300 block of E. Northern Parkway of an undisclosed sum of money Sunday.

Burglary: Someone entered a house in the 6200 block of Birchwood Ave. on Sunday and stole more than $500.

Robbery: A 75-year-old woman was getting out of her car in the 5800 block of Hillen Road on Sunday when a man knocked her to the ground and stole her purse containing cash and property, all valued at $40.

Robbery: A gunman threatened to shoot an employee of the Subway carryout in the 6700 block of Harford Road on Sunday. The robber fled with an undisclosed sum.

Northern District

Theft: A compact disc player, several CDs and a pair of prescription sunglasses, all valued at nearly $500, were stolen Sunday from a 1991 Honda Prelude parked in the first block of W. University Parkway.

Burglary: Someone entered Steve's Maxie-Waxie auto detailing in the 2000 block of N. Howard St. during the weekend and stole two shop vacuums, a compressor, buffers and other equipment, all valued at more than $4,000.

Robbery: A resident of the 400 block of Hollen Road was in the 800 block of E. Belvedere Ave. on Sunday when two men, one with a handgun, robbed him of cash and property, all valued at $135.

Robbery: A couple in their 80s were sitting on their back porch in the 600 block of E. 33rd St. on Sunday when a teen-age boy they recognized entered their home to use the phone. But the youth retrieved a large kitchen knife instead, and robbed the couple of $132.

Eastern District

Rape: Police were seeking a man over 6 feet tall and weighing 200 pounds who raped a 30-year-old woman inside a vacant house in the 1300 block of Wirton St. yesterday.

White Marsh Precinct

Vandalism: Someone used a sharp metal object to scratch 15 1995 and 1996 Nissans parked on the lot at Town & Country Pontiac-Nissan in the 8900 block of Belair Road during the weekend. Police believe the same person similarly vandalized several cars on Hoban Court, a short distance away, Saturday.

Burglary: Someone entered a home in the 5400 block of Forge Road in Perry Hall through a rear sliding glass door yesterday and stole a wallet and purse containing cash and property, all valued at more than $100.

Towson Precinct

Theft: A cellular phone valued at more than $200 was stolen Sunday from a 1993 Chevrolet truck parked in the first block of Willow Ave.

Garrison Precinct

Stolen car: A 1987 Plymouth Horizon with tags YFE-278 was stolen yesterday from the 200 block of Midpines Court in Owings Mills.

Burglary: Computer equipment valued at $4,000 was stolen Sunday from Consolidated Insurance Center in the 11400 block of Cronridge Drive in Owings Mills.

School burglary: Someone entered Wellwood Elementary School in the 2900 block of Smith Ave. during the weekend after breaking a pane of glass in a rear door and stole computer equipment valued at $5,000.

Bank robbery: A gunman robbed First Mariner Bank in the 1000 block of Reisterstown Road of an undisclosed sum of money yesterday.

Burglary: More than $200 was stolen from a house in the 2900 block of Marnat Road yesterday by someone who entered through the front door.
