Navy scores 72-61 win over Australian pros

Josh Height scored 15 points and pulled down five rebounds to lead Navy to a 72-61 exhibition victory in Annapolis yesterday over the Brisbane Bullets, an Australian professional team.

Navy led 41-38 at the half, but wore down the Bullets in the second half, outscoring them 31-23.

Navy coach Don DeVoe shuffled in nine players throughout the second half. Brian Walker and Greg Stephens combined for 15 assists, eight and seven respectively.

Brisbane fell to 1-7 on its American swing and plays Maryland tonight. Navy ended its exhibition season 1-1.

* Navy women 70, Australia Spartans 67: Sophomore Becky Dowling scored four points in the last 30 seconds of overtime to clinch the win.

Junior captain Adria Schneck led all scorers with 22 points and added 15 rebounds.
