Attention, Cal Ripken collectors.

The first of the 1996 baseball cards are out, and Upper Deck is leading the chase for Ripken cards.

Upper Deck's first set for 1996 is Collector's Choice Series One. Among the insert cards are the first five cards of the Cal Ripken Jr. Collection, a 22-card insert set that will be completed with insert cards from Collector's Choice Series Two, Upper Deck Series One and Two, SP Baseball and SP Championship Series.

The format for the Ripken set should be familiar to Upper Deck fans -- it was used for Michael Jordan, Wayne Gretzky and Joe Montana inserts.

Collector's Choice Series One has 365 basic cards plus a parallel set and trade cards that can be redeemed for postseason highlight cards.

Fantasy baseball players can get another opinion from a 12-card subset that ranks the top 15 players at each position in each league. There are three cards for outfielders and four for pitchers.
