MVP Houck leads Notre Dame over Bridgewater, 69-64

Tinah Houck scored 12 points and grabbed eight rebounds to lead the College of Notre Dame to a 69-64 victory over Bridgewater in the College of Notre Dame Tip-off championship game yesterday.

Houck (Westminster) totaled 29 points on 14-of-18 shooting for the tournament and was named MVP.

Emily Yanero (Mount Hebron) contributed 21 points, and Jen Chaney added 14.

The Gators (2-0) shot 60 percent (14-for-23) in the second half.

* Johns Hopkins 74, Catholic 49: Julie Anderson totaled career highs of 21 points, 17 rebounds and four blocks to lift Johns Hopkins over Catholic (0-1) in the first round of the Blue Jay Classic.

The Blue Jays (1-0) play Wilkes in the championship today at 3 p.m.
