Mother's stroke sends Wallace home to N.C.

Washington Bullets rookie forward Rasheed Wallace missed practice yesterday and did not make the trip to Boston after finding out that his mother, Jackie, had suffered a stroke.

Wallace found out yesterday morning and rushed to North Carolina, where his mother moved when he attended North Carolina. According to the Bullets, Mrs. Wallace suffered the stroke on Wednesday.

The Bullets flew to Boston last night for the game tonight against the Celtics at the FleetCenter.
