Drivers of big trucks are asked to avoid Lothian roundabout

November 17, 1995

The State Highway Administration wants commercial vehicles that weigh more than 26,000 pounds to avoid the roundabout under construction at routes 2, 408 and 422 in Lothian from 8 tonight until 6 a.m. Monday.

The request to keep heavy trucks out of the area is aimed at ensuring motorist and worker safety while crews pour concrete for the central island.

A roundabout is a circular intersection in which traffic runs one way around a concrete island and vehicles entering the circle yield the right of way to circulating traffic.
