Oakland Mills board seeks teen adviser

The Oakland Mills Village Board is seeking a teen-ager to fill the nonvoting teen adviser position.

The adviser is appointed to a one-year term and keeps the board informed about issues of concern to teen-agers. Applicants must be high school sophomores, juniors or seniors living in the Village of Oakland Mills.

Application forms are available at the Other Barn at 5851 Robert Oliver Place or from high school principals. The deadline for submitting applications is today. . Interviews will be held Nov. 28. Information: 730-4610.

Police log

Oakland Mills: 5500 block of Oakland Mills Road. A burglar broke the rear window of a home with a brick Monday, ransacked the bedrooms and stole a compact disc player, cash and foreign currency.

Oakland Mills: 9400 block of North Penfield Road. Computer equipment was stolen after someone pried open a home's front door Tuesday.

Owen Brown: 6500 block of Overheart Lane. Clothing, compact discs, a television and other items were stolen from a home Monday or Tuesday. Police said there was no sign of forced entry.

Owen Brown: 7400 block of Swan Point Way: A masked man in a white baseball hat was seen trying to pry open a home's patio door late Wednesday afternoon.

Dorsey's Search: 5400 block of Columbia Road: A 1991 Honda Accord with Maryland tags CLN609 was reported stolen yesterday. A 1990 Acura Legend with Oregon tags was reported stolen blocks away on the same road the same morning.
