Runner of the Year

Dana Strickland, Atholton, Sr.: Repeated as county champ (19:13), running 31 seconds faster than in 1994; won her third regional title (Class 3A East) 20:20; defending state 2A champ finished third at Class 3A state meet (20:50) but ran 59 seconds faster than in 1994; three-time first-team All-Metro selection; two-time county Runner of the Year.

Coach of the Year

Al Dodds, Centennial: The Eagles won their third county title in four years, easily beating defending champ Oakland Mills, 36-71. Top five consisted of two freshmen, two sophomores and a senior. Eagles also won Class 3A East Region title and missed a state championship by three points, finishing third.

First team at a glance

Neha Amin, Centennial, Fresh.: Sixth at county championships (20:45); third at Class 3A East Region championships (21:43); 35th at Class 3A state meet ( 23:04).

Lauren Drake, Oakland Mills, Jr.: Fifth at county championships (20:42); third at Class 2A South Region championships (22:50); 19th at state Class 2A meet (22:57), 32 seconds faster than in 1994. Two-time All-County selection. Second-team All-Metro last season.

Kari Meyer, Centennial, Sr.: Third at the county championships (20:04) but ran 25 seconds faster than in 1994; second at Class 3A East Region championships (21:32); eighth at Class 3A state meet (21:32) and ran 45 seconds faster than in 1994. All-Metro first-team selection her freshman and sophomore years. She was a second-team All-Metro pick last season.

Mia Molfino, Mount Hebron, Fresh.: Eighth at county championships (20:53); fourth at Class 3A East Region championships (21:50); 11th at state Class 3A meet (21:40).

Sarah Ordaz, Centennial, Soph.: Fourth at county championships (20:31); eighth at Class 3A East Region championships (22:08); 20th at state Class 3A meet (22:05).

Beth Santilli, Glenelg, Soph.: Second at the county championships (19:53) but ran 48 seconds faster than in 1994; second in the Class 2A South Region championships (21:43); eighth at Class 2A state meet (21:53), 40 seconds faster than in

1994. This is her second All-County selection.
