County police charged a 31-year-old Davidsonville woman Sunday with assaulting an officer investigating a traffic accident in which she was involved. Shortly before 2:30 a.m., a car traveling south on Riva Road near Governor's Bridge Road skidded off the pavement and hit several trees.

Police said it is unclear who was driving. A spot on the driver's-side windshield showed it had been struck, but the woman who said she was driving was not injured. The passenger, Jerry Lynn Reynoldson of the 500 block of W. Central Ave. in Davidsonville, had a cut on his forehead, police said. He refused medical treatment.

Police said the woman screamed and cursed at them as they questioned her. She pushed one officer, who then grabbed her hand and led her away in an attempt to calm her, but she continued to struggle, police said.

During the struggle, the woman kicked the officer in the leg, police said.

Police charged Robin Sloan, 31, also of the 500 block of W. Central Ave. in Davidsonville with assault on an officer.
