Boy Scouts to staff skill stations in Troop 755 open house Thursday

IF YOU ARE BETWEEN the ages of 11 and 17 and are interested in the outdoors, put Thursday evening on your calendar. Boy Scout Troop 755 will hold an open house to give people the opportunity to see what scouting is all about.

Scouts will staff stations and demonstrate some of the skills that lead to merit badges. Summer camp and the father-and-son camping trip will be explained. Refreshments will be available.

The event will run from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the scout hall, next to the Gambrills Church of God on Route 175.

Odenton Town Center Plan

The Odenton Town Center Plan, adopted by the County Council on Oct. 2, will be discussed at the Odenton Improvement Association meeting tomorrow.

Yolanda Takesian, the county's long-range and capital facilities planner, will discuss the community's growth blueprint, improvements at Piney Orchard and other capital projects.

The meeting will be at 7:30 p.m. at the Odenton Volunteer Fire Hall on Route 175.

Kiwanis Club bake sale

The Kiwanis Club of Odenton will hold a bake sale at 9 a.m.

Saturday at the Super Fresh store in the Odenton Shopping Center.

All proceeds will be used for community service projects. The Kiwanis is a service organization supporting youth groups and helping the needy.

The club sponsors Boy Scout Troop 721, the Meade Senior High School Key Club and the Builder and Key Club at Old Mill schools.
