General Douglas MacArthur recommends elimination of the annual Army-Navy football game in the interest of unity in our fighting forces. The intensive rivalry now leaves an acrid taste which lingers throughout their careers. -- The Sun, Nov. 3, 1945.

Fort George G. Meade has just hired 392 civilians to replace discharged soldiers with 700 vacancies still remaining. -- The Sun, Nov. 8, 1945.

H. Allan Dawson of Anne Arundel County, president of the Mayo Watermen's League, said Sunday that an undermined disease was threatening to exterminate Maryland's bay oysters and killing large numbers of ducks, geese and gulls. -- The Sun, Nov. 16, 1945.

A riot yesterday at the Crownsville State Hospital was quickly stopped after a guard was attacked. Officials stated that the hospital is 50 percent understaffed and 50 percent overpopulated with 1,500 patients. -- The Sun, Nov. 25, 1945.
