Chapel Valley, Rentokil are honored by landscape group

Rentokil Environmental Services Inc. of Burtonsville and Chapel Valley Landscape Co. of Woodbine were honored several times when the Landscape Contractors Association of Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia named its 1995 Excellence in Landscape Award winners.

Long & Foster associate voted Realtors group leader

Judith M. DiFilippo, a sales associate with the Germantown office of Long & Foster Real Estate Inc., was elected president of the Maryland Association of Realtors for 1996 during the organization's recent annual meeting in Ocean City.

Other officers are John J. Harrison, principal broker of Realty Executives/Main Street Street in Upper Marlboro, president elect; John G. Evans, executive vice president/general manager and partner with O'Conor, Piper & Flynn in Baltimore, treasurer; and Harold H. Huggins, broker/owner of Harold H. Area real estate law is topic of book

"Real Estate Practice in the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia" was recently published by the Bar Association of the District of Columbia.

The two-volume book was edited by Paul D. Pearlstein, an attorney with Pearlstein & Jacques, a Washington law firm.

Chapter titles include: "Settlements," "Sales Contracts," "Tax Appeals," "Zoning," "Leins and Encumbrances," "Bankruptcy," "Landlord and Tenant," "Environmental Law" and "Federal Taxation of Real Estate."
