Two Frederick men were charged with robbery after a man entered a restaurant near Mount Airy, indicated he had a gun and stole cash Wednesday night, Howard County police said.

According to police, a man entered Lu & Joe's restaurant in the 1000 block of Ridge Road near Mount Airy and announced a robbery. Police said the robber did not show a weapon, but suggested that he had a gun.

The robber took an undisclosed amount of cash and fled in a vehicle with Virginia tags that was waiting outside, police said.

A witness gave police a description of the vehicle. Officers in nearby Frederick County saw the vehicle and arrested the occupants. Howard County police transported the two men to police headquarters in Ellicott City.

Michael Ryan Beale, 24, of the 4200 block of Rolling Acres Drive, was released from the Howard County Detention Center on a $10,000 bond yesterday. Richard Anthony Tyler, 24, of the 4700 block of Old Mill Bottom Road, was released yesterday on an unsecured bond, a District Court commissioner said.
