Man charged with assault of ex-girlfriend in car

Police arrested a man Sunday and charged him with assaulting a Severn woman and then struggling with police.

Witnesses told police that Debora Ann Darden, 18, of the 1700 block of Meade Circle Road was sitting with a friend in a car parked in her neighborhood shortly before 8 p.m. Sunday when a former boyfriend walked up to the car and began to yelling at her.

Police say Ms. Darden opened the window and the man punched her in the right eye, pulled her out of the car by her hair and dragged her on the ground.

Police arrested Tyrone Savage, 29, of no fixed address, and charged him with assault and battery, trespassing and resisting arrest.
