Man injured when his car hits a deer that ran out in front of his vehicle

A Baltimore area man was injured when his car hit a deer crossing Deer Park Road early Thursday, according to state police.

Matthew P. Kovalsky, 33, of the 400 block of Creswell Road was treated at Carroll County General Hospital and released after the 6 a.m. accident, according to a hospital spokeswoman.

Mr. Kovalsky told police he was driving east on Deer Park Road near Benson Road when his 1988 Honda Accord struck a deer that ran in front of the vehicle. Police said Mr. Kovalsky was injured when the deer went through the car's windshield. Officers did not report the status of the deer.
