Gossett and Holthaus head Williams Scotsman

Williams Scotsman, provider of mobile offices and other portable and modual structures, announced the selections of Barry Gossett as chairman and chief executive officer and Gerry Holthaus as president and chief operations officer. Mr. Gossett is a 25-year veteran of the company. As chairman and chief executive officer, he will focus on acquisition, product development and long-range strategy.

Mr. Holthaus, a former senior vice president of MNC Financial, has been with the Baltimore-based company since 1994 and will direct day-to-day operations and assist in strategy and operations development. La Fontaine Bleu appointed Shirley Murphy to the newly created position of corporate sales as- sociate. Ms. Murphy, the former vice president of sales and marketing for Allstate Alarm & Security Systems, will have responsibility for developing new corporate business for on- and off-site catering. A resident of Anne Arundel County, she is a member of the Northern Anne Arundel County Chamber of Commerce.

RMR & Associates announced that Catherine Canterbury, a public relations account manager; Daniel Davie, a public relations associate; and Jacylyn Syfu, an administrative assistant, have joined the Baltimore ad and PR agency. The firm also appointed Tracy Paczkowski as a traffic manager, Michelle Young as marketing coordinator and Kristen Johnston as a public relations associate.

Dent hires Kennedy as vice president

D. F. Dent & Co., a Baltimore-based investment management firm, has chosen James G. Kennedy, as vice president. An MBA graduate of Loyola College, he authored the nationally distributed, Kennedy Letter.

Behlert and Flisek receive Mercer posts

William M. Mercer, national actuarial, benefits, compensation and management consultants, appointed Marcia Behlert, formerly of MNC Financial, to senior consultant for benefits and compensation, and Karen Flisek, a former New York City deputy commissioner, to senior consultant for compensation and human resources.

Lord & Whip has admitted Pamela T. Broache and Michelle J. Abrams to the firm as associates. They will practice in the fields of product liability and general litigation.

Carole May Management promotes Kathy Bear

Carole May Management, parent of Katz Insurance Agency, announced the appointment of Kathy Bear as vice president.

With the company for five years as a programmer/analyst and accountant, she now oversees operations and technology.


Blues appoint Rosenberg and Bradbury

Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Maryland announced the appointments of Dr. Robert Rosenberg as chief medical officer and Charles E. Bradbury as vice president of information technology.

Before joining the nonprofit, managed-health-care company, Dr. Rosenberg served as chief medical officer and director of government programs at the First Option Health Plan of New Jersey.

Mr. Bradbury was assistant vice president of systems for Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Georgia.

Hertzbach & Co., an accounting and consulting firm headquartered in Owings Mills, announced that Mona Pokotilow has joined the firm.

She is a graduate of the University of Baltimore and will be specializing in auditing and accounting services.
