Taneytown teen is accused of abusing younger brother

November 02, 1995

An 18-year-old Taneytown man was released on $150,000 bond on charges of sodomy, perverted practice and child abuse allegedly involving a younger brother over the past three years.

The man, whose name is not being used to protect the brother's identity, was arrested by state police at his home Tuesday. He could be sentenced to 35 years in prison if convicted on all counts, according to court records.

Police said the youth was abused about twice a month at the home of the boys' father in the Westminster area. The younger brother, who now is 15, reported the alleged abuse to school officials. State police investigated and charged the Taneytown man.

District Court documents indicate bail was posted by a friend yesterday.
