Road work to close I-95 lanes at night

November 01, 1995|By Ivan Penn | Ivan Penn,SUN STAFF

Two of the northbound and southbound lanes of Interstate 95 near Savage will be closed nightly from Nov. 5 through Nov. 9 while workers resurface the roadway approaching the bridge over the Middle Patuxent River.

The lanes will be closed from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. as workers repair damaged asphalt where the roadway meets the bridge. Message signs, arrow boards, traffic cones and drums will mark the construction zone. The State Highway Administration urges motorists to reduce speed and use caution while driving through the area.

The project will affect I-95 from Route 32 to the Prince George's County line. The highway administration awarded C. J. Miller Inc. of Hampstead a $100,000 contract for the project.

Workers are completing a patching project along the same stretch. That project is expected to be completed in mid-November.
