Harford CC wins, 3-0, for NJCAA Southern title

October 30, 1995|By John W. Stewart

Trisha Hudson, a freshman from North East, had two goals and an assist, helping Harford Community College (11-2) rout visiting Ocean County College (7-6), 3-0, in the Southern Division championship game of the National Junior College Athletic Association field hockey tournament in Bel Air yesterday.

The win gives the Owls the home field for Saturday's championship game (1 p.m.) against Northern Division winner Herkimer County (N.Y.) CC, which defeated Dean Junior College.

An excellent defensive effort, led by sophomore Lisa Fotia (Edgewood), and the solid work of freshman Meredith Wienhold (Fallston) in both ends of the field, helped Harford dominate offensively. The home team had 25 shots and 22 penalty corners.
