Papa John's Pizza in the 2000 block of Summerville Road was robbed Wednesday of an undisclosed amount of money, county police said.
A man entered the Annapolis shop shortly after 9:30 p.m., asked the manager about pizza prices and then put his hand into his pocket as if he had a gun, police said.
The man demanded money. When the manager opened the cash register, the robber took the money and ran toward Old Solomons Road, police said.
Annapolis man steals coat, apologizes, still is arrested
An Annapolis man was arrested on theft charges Wednesday after a $90 coat was stolen from the Montgomery Ward store at Annapolis Mall, county police said.
A store security officer told police that the man entered the store shortly after 2 p.m., walked into the ladies' coat section, picked up one of the coats, put it on and removed the tags, police said. The man then walked out of the store without paying for the coat, police said.
The officer detained the man and held him until police arrived.
Alton Galloway, 40, of the 1800 block of Bowmans Court was arrested and charged with theft.
Mr. Galloway apologized for taking the coat, police said.
Reception to be held to honor calendar artists
The Galesville and Shady Side rural heritage societies will sponsor a reception Sunday for the winning artists in the 1996 South Anne Arundel County calendar.
The reception will be from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the West River Sailing Club in Galesville. The artists will autograph the calendars, which cost $7.50 each.

The New Annapolitans will meet at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday in the Conte building conference room, 116 Defense Highway.
