Hispanic liaison reportedly chosen

Luis Ortega, a retired Coast Guard architect from Potomac, has been chosen to succeed Baltimore activist Jose Ruiz, who was fired last week, as the state's chief liaison to the Hispanic community, sources said last night.

An official announcement is expected today. But two Montgomery County Hispanic leaders with close ties to Gov. Parris N. Glendening said last night that he has chosen Mr. Ortega.
