Trees, wires fall in rainstorm that battered area Saturday

October 24, 1995

A fierce storm ripped through areas of northwest Carroll early Saturday.

Area firefighters were kept busy with eight emergency calls between 1:42 a.m. and 4:04 a.m. Saturday, when strong winds and heavy rain felled trees and wires.

Some of the trees tore down electrical wires and others fell on houses, causing an undetermined amount of damage in the Union Bridge, Taneytown and New Windsor areas.
