October 24, 1995

County police arrested a Glen Burnie man Friday who allegedly used a box cutter to open cases of beer in the cold storage room at a Laurel liquor store, then threw the cans around the room.

According to police, the man walked into the 602 Package Good Store in the 3200 block of Fort Meade Road shortly after 10 p.m., bought two packs of cigarettes and went into the cold storage room.

There, he began cutting open the cases, throwing the beer around and tossing the empty boxes out the door, according to police.

An officer called to the store found the man unconscious on the floor.

Police charged Vincent Calvin Batteast, 31, of the 7900 block of Gentle Breeze Court in Glen Burnie, with disorderly conduct.
