Calvert Hall stuns No. 9 City, 14-0, behind Hartley, Marrow

Ryan Hartley scored two touchdowns and Jason Marrow rushed for 107 yards, leading host Calvert Hall to a 14-0 victory over No. 9 City yesterday.

Hartley scored both his touchdowns for Calvert Hall (3-4) in the first quarter on runs of 17 and 2 yards.

City (4-3) had been averaging 25 points a game.

* Mt. St. Joseph 56, McDonogh 18: The top-ranked host Gaels (7-0) piled up 458 total yards and Archie Wannamaker rushed 19 times for 171 yards and four touchdowns in a MIAA A Division win over the Eagles.

* Patterson 37, Northwestern 8: Dwayne Simmons rushed 16 times for 187 yards and four touchdowns as host No. 3 Patterson (7-0) defeated Northwestern.

Rahim Booth made 11 tackles and Patrick Stafford had three sacks for the Clippers' defense.

* Kenwood 42, Dulaney 22: Steve Kelley scored five touchdowns and rushed for 275 yards, including a 68-yard game opening kickoff return, leading visiting Kenwood past No. 15 Dulaney.

Kelley had scoring runs of 46 and 41 yards in the opening quarter as Kenwood (3-4) built a 22-0 lead.

* Eastern Tech 19, Parkville 16: Rodney Pearce capped a 45-yard, eight-play drive with a 1-yard touchdown run with 55:48 left to lift host Eastern Tech (1-6) over Parkville (1-6).

* Hereford 36, Pikesville 6: Seniors Dan Stewart and Lou Thomas combined for five touchdowns as Hereford (4-3) defeated host Pikesville. Stewart had two scores on 170 yards rushing, and Thomas scored three times and caught 13 passes for 87 yards.

* Loyola 17, Gilman 6: Brant Hall completed 7 of 13 passes for 152 yards and a touchdown as host Loyola (2-4) defeated Gilman (0-6). Hall added 81 yards rushing.

* Milford Mill 36, Towson 0: David Bazemore rushed for 136 yards, two first-half touchdowns and a two-point conversion to pace visiting Milford Mill (5-2) past Towson.

Brandon Scarborough had 133 yards and two touchdowns.

* Patapsco 35, Carver A&T 0: Ronnie Wolf threw for three touchdowns and Todd Johnston rushed for 112 yards, leading )) host Patapsco (4-3) over Carver A&T (0-7).

* Spalding 26, Curley 8: Brian Judy rushed 15 times for 169 yards and two touchdowns and one two-point conversion as visiting Spalding (2-6) defeated Curley (0-6).
