25 years ago Spurred on by residents of the area, the Annapolis City Council reversed an earlier decision and denied the Shearwater Sailing Club permission to build a 63-boat mooring facility in Spa Creek. The builder is undecided whether to sell the land or contest the decision. -- The Sun, Oct. 6, 1970.

Scrapping the proposed Outer Harbor tunnel for a bridge closer to Baltimore would cost Anne Arundel County about $5 million for a new water supply system, County Executive Joseph W. Alton said today. -- The Sun, Oct. 28, 1970.
