Mt. Hebron's Mosley selects Wake Forest

October 20, 1995|By Stan Rappaport

Mount Hebron's Alisha Mosley, the Howard County basketball Player of the Year last year as a junior, has orally committed to attend Wake Forest University.

"I loved the campus, it was beautiful," said Mosley, who visited the Winston-Salem, N.C. campus two weeks ago. "I felt I bonded with the players and coach [Karen] Freeman. There was chemistry there. I had a great time."

Mosley, a 5-foot-6 point guard who averaged 19 points and 4.6 assists last year, said the recruiting process was "pretty stressful," and she will be happy to sign when the weeklong signing period begins Nov. 8.

"I feel like I'll be able to play more comfortably," said Mosley, who selected Wake Forest over Villanova. "I won't have to worry about colleges breathing down my neck. I can have fun now."
