Western Md. rolls in field hockey, 3-0

Jaime Moyer (South Carroll) recorded her third consecutive shutout to lead Western Maryland (5-3, 4-2) to a 3-0 victory over visiting Johns Hopkins (5-5-1, 2-3-1) in Centennial Conference college field hockey yesterday.

Moyer's six saves extended Western Maryland's streak of holding opponents scoreless to 4:53.45. The last goal the Green Terror allowed was late in the first half of a 2-1 win over Franklin & Marshall on Sept. 26.

* Swarthmore 1, Washington College 0: Danielle Duffy scored unassisted at 29:53 of the second half to lift visiting Swarthmore over Washington College.

Men's soccer

* Washington College 3, Delaware Valley 2: Dan Gerbasi scored the game-winner and Andrew King earned his second assist at 56:57 of the second half to lead Washington College (9-4-1) by host Delaware Valley (3-9).

* Goucher 2, Christopher Newport 1: Sophomore midfielder Radcliffe Roye had a goal and an assist to lead host Goucher (7-6-1) past Christopher Newport (2-10-1).

Women's soccer

* Maryland 3, UMBC 0: Freshman forward Keri Sarver scored the tiebreaker from three yards out midway through the first half, leading No. 10 Maryland (11-1) past host UMBC (6-6).

Senior forward Kelly Amonte and freshman forward Emmy Harbo also scored for the Terrapins, who won their third straight.
