Tennessee driver attacked by man with golf club on Ritchie Highway

A Tennessee man suffered a broken hand when another man beat him with a golf club Sunday, county police said.

Joseph Antonio Fidalgo was treated at North Arundel Hospital and released Sunday. Mr. Fidalgo was driving north on Ritchie Highway about 7:30 p.m. when a Chevrolet Caprice carrying three men cut him off, police said.

The other driver followed Mr. Fidalgo until both stopped at Ritchie Highway and Route 10, police said. The men got out of their cars, and the driver began to beat Mr. Fidalgo with a golf club, police said.

Pasadena man, 65, injured while escaping carjacker

A 65-year-old Pasadena man was slightly injured in a carjacking Friday when a man jumped into his pickup truck and tried to hold him in the truck before driving off, county police said yesterday.

Clarence Henry Leisner Jr. had fueled his 1986 GMC truck shortly before 6 p.m. Friday at a Mountain Road station and was about to drive off when a man jumped into the passenger side of the truck, police said.

The man tried to prevent Mr. Leisner from leaving the truck by holding his right arm, but Mr. Leisner broke free and was slightly injured when he fell from the truck, police said.

The man drove off in the truck toward Route 100. The truck is black and gray with red pinstripes. It has rally wheels and Maryland tag number 430 296.
