A man wearing a sandy-blond, shoulder-length wig robbed a Columbia bank Friday, fleeing on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash, Howard County police said.

Around 11:30 a.m., the man entered the Commercial & Farmers Bank in the 6500 block of Old Waterloo Road, police said.

After a teller asked if he wanted anything, he announced the robbery, police said.

The man did not produce a weapon but kept his hand in a gym bag during the robbery, Sgt. Steve Keller, a police spokesman, said.

Police were searching for the man, described as white, 5 feet 10 inches tall, 200 pounds and in his early 30s, Sergeant Keller said.

The man wore a green T-shirt under a plaid shirt and light blue jeans, police said.
