Knights of Columbus golf fund-raiser will assist boy injured in accident

Knights of Columbus Council 7612 of Sykesville will hold its annual charity golf tournament at 8:30 a.m. Friday at Bear Creek Golf Club in Westminster.

Proceeds from the event will go toward establishing a trust fund for the medical expenses of 3-year-old Austin Comfort, who was injured in a car accident in 1993 that claimed the life of his mother.

The cost is $55 per player and the format is captain's choice (best ball). Cash prizes will be awarded for first through fourth place, the longest-drive hole and closest-to-the-pin holes.

Food will be available.

Eldersburg: Sykesville investigated a fire alarm sounding on Oak Hill Court at 10:32 a.m. Thursday. Units were out 15 minutes.
