Frank Miano, the top executive of the Home Builders Association of Maryland for almost two decades will leave the trade group at the end of his contract next year.
The Woodlawn-based organization that represents 1,200 builders, developers, contractors and suppliers said it plans a nationwide search for a replacement.
Mr. Miano, 69, said he had anticipated leaving at the end of his second five-year contract to serve as executive vice president and chief of the professional organization. He said the departure is voluntary.
Mr. Miano said the association's board decided this week that he would work until the end of next year, help lead the search for his replacement, and aid in the transition at the association.
