Two gunmen rob pizza shop, strike worker in Owen Brown

Two masked men with semiautomatic handguns robbed a pizza shop in Columbia's Owen Brown village and assaulted one of the employees Wednesday night, Howard County police said.

The robbers entered the Pizza Bolis in the 7100 block of Oakland Mills Road with guns drawn about 11:10 p.m. and announced a robbery to the five employees there, police said.

One robber struck an employee on the head and forced the store manager to open the cash register, police said.

The robbers ran from the store with an undisclosed amount of cash.

L The employee did not require medical treatment, police said.

One of the suspects was described as a 5-foot-7-inch white male in his 20s, wearing blue jeans, a black sweat shirt and a blue-and-white bandanna.

The other was described as a black male, 5 feet 9 inches to 6 feet tall, wearing a black stocking mask, blue jeans and a black sweat shirt.

Anyone with information should call Howard County police at 313-2220 or the Metro Crime Stoppers Hotline at 276-8888 to qualify for a $2,000 reward.
