A 21-year-old man waiting in a car parked outside the Palace 9 theater off Route 108 in Ellicott City was robbed and assaulted by three men Saturday night, Howard County police said.

The man was not seriously injured, police said.

Police said the men surprised the victim about 10 p.m., entered his car, demanded his wallet, struck him with a gun and fled.

One assailant was described as a 6-foot black male, weighing about 220 pounds, with a beard, tan baseball hat and blue sweat shirt with the logo "Guess Jeans USA." Another was described as a black male about 18, with dreadlocks, baggy jeans and a red flannel shirt. The third attacker was black, had short hair and wore a dark shirt with baggy jeans.
