Youth is beaten and robbed of his money by two men who approached him in a car

A 17-year-old Columbia youth was assaulted and robbed by two men in Columbia's Owen Brown village Saturday, Howard County police said.

The victim was not seriously injured. Police said he was walking in the 7400 block of Broken Staff when a car stopped near him and two men got out and approached him.

The men beat him, took money and then fled in their car, police said.

One of the suspects was a black male, 16 or 17, standing 5 feet 10 inches, weighing 160 pounds with beaded dreadlocks. He wore a black T-shirt and long dark pants, police said.

The other suspect was described as a 6-foot black male, about 18 years old, weighing 200 pounds.
