Fairbanks leads Stroke Play by 2

Phil Fairbanks birdied the first hole, then ran off 17 straight pars for 35-3570, and took a two-stroke lead part way through the rain-delayed first round of the Maryland Amateur Stroke Play championship at Mount Pleasant Golf Course yesterday.

Walt Grabowski, Brendan McKinney, and Bob Kaestner had 72s, and Serge Hogg, Matt Sughrue and Rick Riddle 73s.
