Prince George's County police found a man's body yesterday in the trunk of a car parked in Powder Mill Park in Beltsville.

The body was found in a black, 1995 BMW 318i registered to John E. McMullin, 29, of the 3400 block of Lindenwood Drive in Russett Green, according to Anne Arundel County police, but Mr. McMullin had not been identified as the victim last night.

Mr. McMullin was the victim of a carjacking earlier in the day, and witnesses said he was forced into the trunk of the car by three men, police said.

Prince George's police said officers checking a complaint of a suspicious car found the body about 9:30 a.m. They said they found at least one bullet hole in the trunk of the car and one in the body.

Anne Arundel County police said the car was stolen about 3 a.m. yesterday.

Police said Mr. McMullin was sitting with a female friend in his car in front of his house when three men ran up to the driver's window and pointed a black semiautomatic handgun at him.

The carjackers ordered the woman to lie on the ground and demanded money from Mr. McMullin before they put him into the trunk of the car and drove off, police said.

The incident was similar to one two hours earlier. According to police, Scott Kirby Young, 30, of the 200 block of Ertter Drive, Laurel, was sitting in his car in front of his house when two men -- one armed with a semiautomatic handgun -- got into his car.
