September 16, 1995|By From Staff Reports

Veteran defender Jason Dieter has signed a three-year contract with the Baltimore Spirit, the club announced.

A standout at Curley High, Essex Community College and UMBC, Dieter is one of three players who have been with the Spirit since its inception in 1992, the others being Barry Stitz and Cris Vaccaro.

"I think every youth soccer player in Baltimore has always wanted a chance to play pro soccer here, and I'm just thankful I can continue to live out that dream," said Dieter, 25.

Dieter appeared in 38 games last season, with a career-high 14 goals and seven assists.
