* Westminster: An official of Western Maryland College reported to city police someone attempted to steal a sofa from a dormitory on Wednesday. The sofa was valued at $150.

An employee of Weis Market on Baltimore Boulevard told city police someone stole articles valued at $43 on Wednesday.

A resident of Long Valley Road reported to city police someone broke into her car and stole property while the vehicle was parked near her home on Wednesday. She estimated the theft at $22.

A Taneytown resident told city police someone broke into an apartment he owns on Eagles Court and stole property on Monday. He estimated the theft at $700.

An official of Westminster Elementary School on Uniontown Road reported to city police someone broke a window at the rear of the building on Sept. 8. The damage was estimated at $45.
