Annapolis man is charged in prescription fraud

An Annapolis man was arrested on a fraud charge Monday after a doctor's prescription for pain killers was altered, county police said.

Dr. Richard B. Garden called the Safeway Pharmacy in the 1400 block of Ritchie Highway in Arnold on Monday and told the pharmacist he had written a patient a prescription for 20 Percocet tablets, police said. Later, the patient arrived with a prescription for 30 pain killers.

Jan Jacobs Adrianus Fokkema, 33, of the 100 block of Star Pine Drive was charged him with prescription fraud.

Severna Park man charged with theft

A Severna Park man was arrested Monday and charged with theft and breaking and entering, police said.

Joseph Miqueli, who lives in the 700 block of Pin Oak Road, told police he opened his garage door just before 6 a.m. to get his motorcycle. He then went into his house for a few moments, returned and found a stranger inside his garage.

When Officer Anthony F. Tortorici arrived shortly after 6 a.m., he recognized a car he had stopped on a traffic violation, police said.

Roman Erik Bielski, 22, of the 200 block of Severn River Road was arrested at the scene.
