Arizona Diamondbacks -- Expansion team named Brannon Bonifay national scouting supervisor and Bill Earnhart, Howard McCullough and David May Jr. area scouts.

Detroit Tigers -- Acquired OF Derek Hacopian (Maryland) from the Milwaukee Brewers to complete the trade for Kevin Wickander.

Kansas City Royals -- Recalled P Melvin Bunch and IF Joe Randa from Triple-A Omaha.

College

Loyola -- Junior F Ari Edelman was named men's soccer co-Player of the Week by the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. He shared the award with Tony Burke of Canisius.

Navy -- D Amy McGrath was named women's soccer Offensive Player of the Week by the Patriot League.

Towson State -- Accepted an invitation from the Patriot League as an associate member for football. Senior RB Larry Washington (Randallstown) was named ECAC Offensive Player of the Week.

Football

Chicago Bears -- Re-signed LB Robert Bass. Placed LB Darwin Ireland on injured reserve. Placed DT Ervin Collier on practice squad.

Philadelphia Eagles -- Signed OL Harry Boatswain and FB Dexter McNabb to one-year contracts.

Pittsburgh Steelers -- Signed DB Randy Fuller. Waived CB Corey Holliday. Waived T Earnest Greene from the practice squad.

B.C. Lions (CFL) -- Signed QB Erik White.

Calgary Stampeders (CFL) -- Signed WR Tyrone Williams.

Saskatchewan Roughriders (CFL) -- Traded DL Lubo Zizakovic (Maryland) to Toronto for future considerations.

Toronto Argonauts (CFL) -- Signed QB Darren Studstill and DL Juan Hammonds. Acquired DL Lubo Zizakovic from Saskatchewan Roughriders in exchange for Toronto's fourth-round draft pick in the 1996 draft.

Hockey

Edmonton Oilers -- Signed LW Louie DeBrusk and D Igor Kravchuk. Agreed to terms with D Jiri Slegr.

Florida Panthers -- Announced retirement of D Keith Brown.

Tampa Bay Lightning -- Signed G Daren Puppa to a multi-year contract.
