Although Winifred Kelly celebrated her 90th birthday in July, she continues to work her in garden, donating much of what she grows to families that need some assistance.

"I give away a little over a half, I'm sure, to feed the poor," Mrs. Kelly says. "I wait to find out who's hungry . . . families that I find out that are in need of help or really in a pinch. I love people, I really do.

"Everybody tells me the garden's nearly a half an acre. A preacher tills it up for me. I work it with a hoe. I lost a little of it this year because of the heat. I've always worked hard."

Mrs. Kelly, a resident of Severn for close to 40 years, was married to the late Rev. Lomer Kelly, an evangelist for more than 50 years.

She has eight children, 25 grandchildren and 43 great-grandchildren. She also is known for singing in area

churches. "I told God, I'd sing as long as I could. The Lord has been good to me."
