Police searching for inmates missing from work release

September 07, 1995

County police are searching for two detention center inmates who never returned to the jail on Jennifer Road from work-release details Tuesday, authorities said.

Police said Michael Aloysius Cahill, 34, of the 600 block of Tiffany Woods Drive in Churchton, and Timothy Alexander Scott, 26, of the 400 block of Secret Bend in Glen Burnie left the detention center at 6 a.m. Tuesday to report to work, and they were supposed to return by 7 p.m. When the two had not returned by 11:30 p.m., a corrections officer phoned police. An officer called Cahill's employer and found that he had not reported to work that day. Police said they could not reach Scott's employer.

Cahill began serving an 18-month sentence for robbery May 3. Scott began serving a one-year sentence for felony theft July 27, according to Richard Baker, detention center superintendent.
