Business Expo '95 set for Saturday

Members of the Greater Mount Airy Business Association are holding their third annual business expo to help area residents discover the resources and services that are available in their hometown.

Mount Airy Business EXPO '95 will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at the Mount Airy Firemen's Carnival Grounds at Twin Arch Road and Route 27.

Admission and parking are free.

EXPO '95 will feature information about area businesses as well as a farmers' market and silent auction. A moon walk for children, prizes, a free golf clinic, food and demonstrations will be available.

FIRE

* Mount Airy: Mount Airy and Lisbon of Howard County investigated a fire alarm sounding in the 400 block of N. Main Street at 5:42 p.m. Saturday. Units were out for 17 minutes.

Mount Airy and Lisbon of Howard County responded to a motor home fire in the 400 block of E. Ridgeville Boulevard at 5:41 p.m. Friday. Units were out for 32 minutes.

* Winfield: Winfield responded to a brush fire in the 4100 block of Salem Bottom Road at 7:09 p.m. Sunday. Units were out for 36 minutes.

Winfield responded to investigate the report of a fire in the 2600 block of Watson Road at 7:02 p.m. Friday. Units were out for five minutes.
