Man seeking drugs, cash robs dentist's office

A man robbed a Pasadena dentist's office of an undisclosed amount of money shortly after noon Friday, county police said.

A receptionist at the office in the first block of Mountain Road told police the robber came into the office and asked for money and drugs, police said. When the receptionist told him that he was in a dentist's office, he told her he had a gun. The bandit fled after the receptionist gave him money from the petty cash drawer, police said.

Police are looking for a white male, 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighing about 180 pounds with bad teeth. He was in his early 30s and was wearing a white T-shirt with a torn pocket and khaki shorts.

Bicyclist arrested on cocaine charge

A Pasadena man was arrested on drug charges Saturday night after he was stopped because his bicycle did not have a headlamp, police said.

He was stopped at Freetown and New Freetown roads shortly before 11 p.m. Officers searched the man and found a hypodermic needle and what appeared to be crack cocaine, police said.

Alvin Keith Brown, 38, of the 100 block of Mountain Road was charged with possession of crack cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Democrats to hold monthly party Sunday

The Stoney Creek Democratic Club on Fort Smallwood Road will sponsor its monthly party from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.

A hot platter, munchies, beer, sodas and setups are included in the $7 admission. The Sugar Beats will provide the music.
