Fund-raiser to help build amphitheater
Carroll Community College is launching an in-house fund-raiser for the construction of an amphitheater. The event will be at 11 a.m. Monday on the campus at 1601 Washington Road, Westminster.
The fund-raiser will be a silent auction of items that have been donated by college personnel and local businesses. A welcome back luncheon for faculty and staff will begin at 12:30 p.m., with entertainment.
The Carroll Community College Foundation has set a goal of $300,000 in private donations for the amphitheater. Donations have been categorized in a "levels of support" initiative that will recognize contributors on the college's "Showcase the Arts" chart.
Categories are: benefactor, $10,000 and above; producer, $5,000 and above; director, $1,500 and above; star, $500 and above; cast member, $100 and above; and audience member, up to $99.
All donors will be recognized on a plaque in the college's Learning Resources Center.
For information about donating to the amphitheater or the Aug. 21 activities, call 876-9639.
