Lovell, Hill gain Flattery final

Wes Lovell of Hunt Valley and Chad Hill of Easton ended their semifinal matches on the 16th hole yesterday and will meet in this morning's scheduled 18-hole final in the 57th annual Jimmy Flattery Junior tournament at Hunt Valley Golf Club.

Mike Cohn of Bethesda rolled in a four-foot putt at the final green to get past Bart DeLuca of Catonsville, 1 up, in one 13-14 semifinal. Cohn will play Chad Perman, a 5-and-4 winner over Verti Iso-Ahola, in the final.

U.S. Juniors

Brian Hanczaryk of Crofton and Danny Riskam of Olney were the only area on-site qualifiers for the match-play portion, then both lost first-round matches at the 48th championship in Fargo, N.D.
