Woman charged in attack on her 18-year-old son

A Pasadena woman was charged Tuesday in an attack on her son after he allegedly had made $250 worth of calls to a phone sex service from her home, county police said.

Gordon Eric Fox, 18, was treated at Harbor Hospital for facial bruises and released, police said. His mother went to his house about 10:30 a.m., sprayed him with Mace, then hit him with a blackjack, police said. The woman alleged that her son had broken into her home to make the calls, police said.

Barbara Faye Fox, 41, of the 600 block of Powhatan Beach Road, was charged with assault and battery, police said.

Balto. woman charged with stealing lures

A Baltimore woman was arrested Tuesday evening after allegedly stealing $160 worth of fishing lures from a Pasadena Jamesway department store, county police said.

Security officers at the store in the 4200 block of Postal Court told police the woman entered the store about 6 p.m. and put 35 Bill Lewis fishing lures in a shopping cart. As she walked around the store, she put the lures in her purse, then left, police said. The security officers held her until police arrived.

Kelly Faye Miller, 23, of the 3600 block of St. Margarets St. in Brooklyn, was charged with misdemeanor theft, police said.

Savings program for youngsters set

Lake Shore Elementary School will present "Thinking About Earning and Saving$" from 10:30 a.m. to noon Aug. 8. The program is designed for children entering fourth and fifth grades.
