Shotgun-wielding pair holds up High's store

July 27, 1995

Two hooded robbers threatening to use a shotgun forced employees at a Columbia High's store to open a safe and then ran off with cash Tuesday night, Howard County police said.

The two employees working that night were not injured during the holdup in the 6800 block of Cradlerock Way in the Village of Owen Brown, police said.

About 10:50 p.m., the workers were confronted by two men wearing dark, hooded sweat shirts. One of the men carried a shotgun, and they both demanded cash, police said.

After the employees turned over cash from the register, the robbers ordered them to a back room and forced them to open the store's safe, police said.

The robbers then took an undisclosed amount of money from the safe, told the employees to lie on the floor and then they fled on foot, police said.

Anyone with information should call Howard County police at 313-2220 or the Metro Crime Stoppers Hotline at 276-8888. A $2,000 reward has been offered.
