SHOOTING: Southern District -- A 19-year-old resident of the 3200 block of Cherryland Road was in the 2900 block of Carver Road early yesterday trying to settle an argument among three men and his mother and sister when one of the men pulled out a handgun and shot him in the back. The victim fled and was found in the 900 block of Bunche Road. He was taken to Maryland Shock Trauma Center for treatment. Police later arrested Robert Williams, 26, of the 2900 block of Carver Road and charged him in the shooting.

STOLEN CAR: Southeastern District -- A 1988 Oldsmobile Delta 88 with tags ZXG 418 was stolen yesterday in the 2600 block of Boston St.

THEFT/ARREST: Northern District -- Police arrested a man who attempted to leave the Giant market in the 700 block of W. 40th St. yesterday without paying for meat.

ASSAULT/ARREST: Northern District -- A resident of the 900 block of Exeter Hall Ave. was in the 700 block of Exeter Hall Ave. yesterday when he was attacked by several men who struck him with their fists and kicked him. He was treated at Maryland General Hospital and released. Police arrested a suspect.

THEFT: Northern District -- A 35-year-old woman was arrested yesterday when she attempted to leave the Stop, Shop and Save store in the 2800 block of Greenmount Ave. without paying for meat valued at nearly $9.

STOLEN CAR: Southwestern District -- A 1990 Acura with tags CHS 209 was stolen yesterday in the 4900 block of Challedon Road.

THEFT: North Point Precinct -- A 20-inch mountain bike valued at $300 was stolen Tuesday from the back yard of a house in the 2900 block of Cornwall Road.

THEFT: Parkville Precinct -- A telephone, stereo equipment and a radar detector, all valued at more than $1,100, were stolen Tuesday from a car parked in the first block of Sandstone Court.

BURGLARY: Garrison Precinct -- A .22-caliber pistol, a 9 mm Intertech pistol, a Smith & Wesson .357 Magnum handgun, another 9 mm handgun, a rifle with a folding stock and a compact disc player were stolen last weekend from a house in the first block of Waldron Ave.

STOLEN CAR: Essex Precinct -- A red two-door 1992 Plymouth Sundance with tags YSL 429 was stolen Tuesday in the 9900 block of Tailspin Lane.
