Three arrested on drug charges in police raid

County narcotics detectives arrested three people on drug charges Friday night after they raided a house in Edgewater and found small amounts of suspected crack cocaine, suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia, county police said.

Officers made undercover buys at the house in the first block of Chipouras Drive and got a warrant to search it after several residents complained of drug dealing there, police said.

Melody Sue Dolan, 27, and Basil Eugene George, 32, who live in the house, were charged with possession of marijuana, cocaine and drug paraphernalia. Carl Runeye Thompson, 39, of the 5400 block of Deale Road in Churchton also was in the house and was arrested on an outstanding warrant charging him with forgery, police said.

Annapolis gets first assistant city attorney

Kimla Milburn has been hired as Annapolis' first assistant city attorney.

She joins City Attorney Paul Garvey Goetzke in the city's legal department. She received her law degree from the University of Maryland Law School in 1988.

Ms. Milburn resides in Bowie with her husband, Michael, and two children, Michael Jr. and Benjamin.
